August 29, 2025. Nashville, USA: Cosworth, the pioneering high-performance technology and engineering company, has entered into a landmark partnership with iRacing, the global leader in online motorsport simulation. The agreement sees Cosworth appointed as an official data analysis partner of iRacing, bringing its world-renowned Pi Toolbox software to a global community of more than 350,000 active sim racers.

As part of the multi-year agreement, iRacing will launch several branded competitive series within the iRacing ecosystem, including the ‘Cosworth Cup’ featuring the sim’s top-tier open-wheel cars, and an all-new series within the new iRacing Arcade sphere, which will connect the next generation of drivers and fans.

“This partnership represents a big step forward in Cosworth’s ongoing mission to democratise data for drivers at every level,” said Florian Kamelger, CEO of Cosworth. “By combining our industry-leading Pi Toolbox platform with iRacing’s immense reach and technical credibility, we’re empowering a new wave of talent to unlock performance through data, whether they’re racing virtually or in the real world.”

Under the agreement, iRacing users will gain access to Pi Toolbox, with a new release designed to natively read ‘.IBT’ data files generated by the platform. Such an arrangement eliminates the need for converters or third-party tools, giving sim racers immediate access to professional-grade data visualisation and analysis previously reserved for elite motorsport teams in the real-world.

The landmark partnership also includes:

  • Seamless integration of Cosworth’s advanced data and telemetry tools within iRacing’s immersive ecosystem
  • Custom Pi Toolbox workbooks tailored for iRacing users, including pre-built templates and advanced visualisations
  • Live remote telemetry support using Pi Toolbox, leveraging the same real-time data tools trusted in IndyCar and WEC to transmit critical data during a session
  • Educational support in the form of video tutorials and dedicated online resources
  • Naming rights of selected iRacing championship series across different racing categories

Pi Toolbox is Cosworth’s highly advanced data analysis software, trusted by global top-tier motorsport teams to extract performance insights from downloaded data and telemetry. Originally developed for real-world racing environments, it enables detailed comparison of driver inputs, vehicle behaviour and lap data in real-time – and now, through its integration with iRacing, users can directly compare data from actual Cosworth-equipped race cars with iRacing telemetry for unprecedented continuity between the virtual and physical racing spheres.

A standout feature launching later in 2025 is live remote telemetry support using the Pi Toolbox solution – a first for sim racing. Leveraging the same real-time tools used in elite motorsport series like IndyCar and WEC, this functionality allows critical data to be transmitted during sessions for immediate input from remote engineers, teammates and coaches.

“We’re excited to welcome Cosworth as an official data analysis partner of iRacing,” said Tony Gardner, President of iRacing. “Our engineers have asked for more powerful tools to develop race cars and better understand complex performance data – and here Cosworth has risen to the challenge.

Together, we’ve created a system that bridges the virtual and physical racing worlds using a single telemetry platform. This is a game-changer for sim racers of all skill levels.”

The launch of the collaboration aligns with iRacing’s wider ambitions, including the expansion into console gaming through upcoming iRacing Studios titles like iRacing Arcade, and the introduction of officially licensed NASCAR and IndyCar games. As part of the agreement, the Cosworth branding will be present across these ecosystems as well. Within iRacing Arcade, the Cosworth Cup Series will serve as the ultimate reward tier – bringing the Cosworth name into homes of new audiences across PC, PlayStation and Xbox spheres.

“This is more than just a partnership – it’s a performance ecosystem,” said Tom Brown, Head of Product and Solutions at Cosworth. “From grassroots esports to professional-level simulation, we’re delivering tools that don’t just replicate the real-world experience – they are the real-world experience. This collaboration enables us to offer the ultimate platform for performance analysis, training and development, supporting both today’s racers and the next generation of drivers and engineers. It’s a powerful step forward that reinforces Cosworth’s role in shaping the future of racing, on and off the track.”

With over six decades at the forefront of global motorsport, Cosworth’s pioneering technologies have powered champions across every major racing series – from Formula One to endurance, rally and touring cars. This legacy of performance, precision and innovation now extends into the world of simulation, where Cosworth is applying its real-world data expertise to help shape the next generation of racing talent through advanced digital tools like Pi Toolbox.

The partnership will officially be unveiled at iRacing’s season launch on 9 September, with series participation and Pi Toolbox access going live from 16 September.
