FAST LANE WITH XENOMATIX
November 6, 2020
As the world demands unprecedented mobility solutions, we are already in the fast lane thanks to our partnership with XenomatiX, the industry-leading provider of true solid state lidars for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and Autonomous Driving Systems (AD).
In the initial phase of this exciting co-operation, which is already underway, we have incorporated XenomatiX state-of-the-art solid state lidars into our existing intelligence technology offering to the automotive market. This is a long-term partnership, through which we intend to jointly develop bespoke LiDAR products under the Cosworth banner in a fast-paced industry.
Our chosen LiDAR technology focuses on true solid state designs that employ cost effective laser matrices (multi-beam) and detectors to deliver high refresh rates with short and long-range variants (200m).
We have used our extensive experience in the automotive field to develop a suite of safety electronics, ADAS and AD technologies that are seamlessly integrated into vehicle architecture. Working with XenomatiX, we are able to add true solid state LiDAR sensors alongside high definition video and vision processing modules for a complete and unique solution.
With this technology, manufacturers can be sure that their autonomous and ADAS vehicles will have the best knowledge or view of their surroundings which, in turn, will help the car make the best – and safest – decisions possible.
“We’re excited to continue our partnership with XenomatiX, the only company that can boast true solid-state LiDAR technology,” said Cosworth CEO Hal Reisiger. “At Cosworth, as a trusted tier one supplier to global automotive manufacturers, we are working hard to maintain our competitive advantage in a fast-changing industry. Our experience and expertise in automotive electronics, combined with strategic partnerships, such as this one with XenomatiX, enable us to offer unique solutions that do just that. Our real-time vision processing modules have all been proven in the automotive market; adding solid-state LiDAR into the mix will offer a holistic solution that will give autonomous and ADAS vehicles the best possible view of the world.”
“Regularly, customers tell us XenomatiX is exceptionally advanced towards true solid state series production, ahead of what they’ve seen so far. Looking at our straightforward concept and modular design, this comes as no surprise. Keeping our focus and efforts on our LiDAR design and development, we strategically position as a Tier II and enjoy collaborations with esteemed Tier I partners. Cosworth is known for high performance and fast-to-market projects, with a high growth in its electronics business. Since XenomatiX’ true solid state LiDAR is now going to series, performance and speed is what OEMs are expecting. The race for increasing ADAS and growing level of autonomy is hard and tough. With Cosworth as a partner, XenomatiX adds extra power to its eco-system.” said XenomatiX CEO, Filip Geuens
