PRODUCTION PLANNER Location: Northampton   COUNTRY: UK

We now require a Production Planner to manage our piston shop requirements for scheduling and materials supply.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage supply of material and services to ensure competitive price and delivery performance.
  • Produce balanced schedule for workflow through manufacturing process.
  • Develop finite scheduling of key equipment to maximize utilization.
  • Work with production engineering to respond to RFQ’s in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with sales on part delivery dates.
  • Maintain piston forecast spreadsheet.
  • Guide production engineering, manufacturing and quality to job priorities.
  • Compile scheduling KPI’s.
  • Work with shift leaders to maintain piston stores area.
  • Work with sales to produce material forecasts.
  • Planning and creating production orders to fulfil the customer demand
  • Produce detailed work-to-lists for critical machines.
  • Work with sales to produce production hours and material requirements forecast to ensure correct levels of manpower are in place to achieve plan.
  • Identify potential gaps in workload and liaise with sales to fill.
  • Liaise with the rest of the team to respond to RFQs in a timely manner.
  • Maintain SAP material master data including costings.
  • Guide production engineering, manufacturing and quality to job priorities.
  • Attend the daily production planning review, ensure the production board is updated regularly to reflect deviation from plan.
  • Ensure our suppliers have clear and concise information as to our requirements.
  • Support the sales team preparing accurate quotes and BOM costs.

SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES

The successful candidate will have:

  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word Excel)
  • Knowledge of and experience of working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Fully proficient with MRPP and scheduling and planning.
  • Good team player with excellent communication skills
  • SAP Experience

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in purchasing.
  • Management of supply chains and material/services sourcing.
