RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To produce manufacturing routings, cost estimates & proposals for Performance engine components & make to print parts
• Design Jig / fixture & special tools using NX6 or equivalent CAD packages for both batch & production type manufacture
• Produce CNC programmes for 3, 4 & 5 axis and Mill/Turn machines with supporting documentation using NX6 CAM, Vericut & AutoCAD (tool design)
• Support machine prove-outs liaising with machine shop & quality department to achieve the required quality & production times
• Produce manufacturing proposals & support new product introduction
• Support CI initiatives & continual reduction of Set / Run times & Scrap over all manufacturing disciplines
• Liaise with Procurement, to obtain best value & delivery on special tooling & designed equipment
• Consider the health and safety, environmental and energy impact of all activities.
• Support the Company’s compliance with the Data Protection Act 2018, following policy and best practice.
• Undertake any other duties or activities reasonably requested in order to meet departmental or company goals.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND CHARACTER:

• Minimum of 3yrs Apprentice training
• Competent in the use CAD / CAM systems (NX6 or equivalent)
• Knowledge of CNC programming for both Fanuc & Heidenhain controls
• Knowledge of latest cutting technologies
• Competent in the use of Vericut 7 & AutoCAD
• Has practical experience in Fixture designs
• Experience in the use of SAP & all Microsoft products
