VTOL AIRCRAFT
We have developed hybrid propulsion systems that are installed in development Vertical Take-Off and Landing (VTOL) airframes. The nature of VTOL aircraft is such that they require significantly greater take-off power than cruise power. In these applications our AG2 engine is augmented by a further 6bhp from the electric motor for the short take-off phase, before the motor switches to power generation in level flight.

Our internal combustion engine, battery and motor technology is well suited to VTOL aircraft requirements and our approach to engineering challenges makes us the ideal partner for developmental propulsion systems such as hydrogen engines.


A BACKGROUND IN ENGINEERING
Our engineering background and partnerships have led us to produce novel 2-stroke, air-cooled, ultra-light UAV engines that boast unrivalled levels of efficiency, reliability and serviceability. Capable of running on both JP5 and JP8 jet fuel, our compression ignition UAV engines benefit from de-throttling, further boosting efficiency and reducing exhaust temperatures.

We have supported a number of defense contractors with engine development programs for their Group 3 and Group 4 UAS projects. These programs range from re-design of key engine components for mass reduction through to complete engine development and production supply.
