When it comes to battery development for our customers, flexibility and scalability is key: our industry standard-setting systems open new realms of possibility and opportunity. When developing a system, we ensure we have a full understanding of the application using simulation and testing, to select the best battery solution possible.
CYLINDRICAL SCALEABLE MODULE (CSM)
Our modular design allows for the use of a core set of components to create modules of varying capacity and performance. With this format, we can use a wide range of cell chemistries depending on customer requirements, making it a highly cost-effective, fast turnaround and flexible solution.
Also incorporated in our CSM platform is our class-leading thermal management system which increases the efficiency, life and performance of our CSMs further.
Over the last few years, two main sizes of cylindrical cells have led the market, 18650 and 21700. Our CSMs are designed to take both of those sizes, giving customers increased flexibility and supply chain security when deciding on their battery specifications.

POUCH MODULE
Pouch module batteries can be used for high charge and discharge rates, using ultra-high C rate cells in high-performance applications, like Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems (KERS).
Our pouch module development includes novel cooling plate designs allowing for improved thermal energy transfer from cells to coolant whilst minimising the distance between the cells, therefore reducing the module size and reducing packaging restrictions. Our systems are also chemistry agnostic, we can select the highest energy density chemistries which are useful in weight critical applications such as for use in aircraft.
We supply all teams on the BTCC grid with a bespoke pouch module solution to demonstrate our battery capabilities in this type of application.


BATTERY MANAGEMENT
We have been developing our proprietary battery management systems (BMS) for over three years. Thanks to our learnings and understanding of battery chemistry, we have optimised control strategies for an endless number of applications. With our expertise, we use battery management systems to extract the full energy potential of battery packs down to a cellular level.
