Developed for the Lotus Evora GT programme, the GL series of
engines are based on an OEM V6 block with variants tailored to meet
the requirements of FIA and ACO regulations for GT2, GT4 and
GT4E endurance racing.
Design, development, calibration and track support were all undertaken by Cosworth and the Lotus Evora GTE finished the Le Mans 24h at the first attempt.
As part of the development programme, Cosworth's engineering team developed a new intake system and port design, optimised the valvetrain and added a dry sump. The GLC varaint was endurance tested to using a 24hrs of Le Mans simulation on Cosworth's fully transient dyno.
