Good Luck Sailrocket 2

Cosworth electronics are building a reputation for outright speed on the water.

In 2009, a hydrofoil called Hydroptère set a blistering pace of over 50 knots with the aid of a Sigma lightweight data acquisition system to become the outright speed record holder in the world of sailing - a record which stood until October 2010.

Now in 2011, the latest challenger to the outright sail speed crown, Vestas Sail Rocket 2, uses a Pi Garda system from Cosworth to get every last ounce of power from its new solid wing design.

With the boat completed, the team led by the intrepid Paul Larsen is in Walvis Bay, Namibia waiting for the perfect conditions to go even faster.

The team at Cosworth wish Paul the very best of luck!
