Eaton Vehicle Group Signs Supercharger Distributor Agreement with Cosworth
GALESBURG, Mich. … Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corporation today announced that it has signed a distributor agreement with the Cosworth Group, Northampton, UK, to supply Eaton's Twin Vortices Series (TVS® Supercharger) and other Roots-type Superchargers to the European automotive market.
Eaton signed the agreement with Cosworth on April 6, 2012. The agreement will focus on supplying Eaton TVS® Superchargers to automakers for low volume OEM applications and performance kits for aftermarket customers in both the UK and Europe.
"Cosworth is a very respected world-class engineering company with a strong history of engine development," Cosworth is very well known and respected in the worldwide automotive market," said Ed Lunder, product strategy manager for Eaton's Supercharger business. "Global OEMs, niche manufacturers and performance enthusiasts all rely on Cosworth to provide power systems, and we look forward to working with them to bring Eaton's advanced TVS® Supercharger technologies to them as well."
Eaton's TVS® Supercharger design boosts power and low-end torque while providing vehicle manufacturers with the option of using a smaller, more efficient engine with no loss in performance or drivability. The TVS® Supercharger is an advanced Roots-type positive displacement Supercharger that features twin four-lobe rotors that are twisted 160-degrees. The intermeshing, high-speed rotor design pumps air directly into the engine's intake system that, when mixed with fuel, creates more power.
Eaton is the worldwide leader in Supercharger solutions for large through small displacement engines for customers in markets around the world. Eaton's Supercharger technology has been selected by numerous premium global automakers and can be found on these vehicles: Audi A6, S4 and S5, Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, Cadillac CTS-V, Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid, Porsche Cayenne S Hybrid SUV, Jaguar XKR, XFR, XJR and Range Rover Sport and Nissan Micra.
