Product Manager, Heavy Fuel Engines

Develop the global marketing strategy and complete product life cycle road map for each engine application in each target market for our premium heavy fuel (all diesel fuels) engine range from 3bhp to 200bhp.  Target markets include Unmanned Aerial vehicles, Unmanned Under Water vehicles, Unmanned ground vehicles, APUs and Gen-set engines.   

The Product Manager is responsible for the strategic product planning and execution throughout the product life-cycle (PLC), including, gathering market data, defining the value proposition, detailing the customer requirements, defining the product vision and recommending the optimal route to market. PM is expected to work with manufacturing, engineering, sales and marketing to ensure customer satisfaction goals are met which result in delivering target revenues.

The Product Manager is expected to:

  • Define the product strategy and roadmap; this will include product evolution, obsolescence and succession
  • Market test beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples
  • Provide guidance on pricing strategy throughout PLC
  • Define packaging, promotions and communications requirement to launch and sell product
  • Work with sales team to advise best route to market to maximize profit
  • Work with engineering and manufacturing to deliver a value proposition that meets customer needs and maximizes profit opportunity
  • Work with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
  • Act as a leader within the company for their product

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Strong background in diesel engine/generator sector
  • Experience in Unmanned Aerial vehicles, Unmanned Under Water vehicles, Unmanned ground vehicles, APUs and Gen-set engine markets
  • Global product management experience
  • Demonstrated success creating the product roadmap for a new product line
  • Demonstrated success achieving target market penetration based on product roadmap
