Unveiled at events in California's Laguna Seca Raceway and the Pebble Beach Concours d' Elegance the Exos Experience by Lotus offers the chance for an elite group of customers to race on prestigious European circuits in cars designed to deliver the exhilaration of supreme speed and performance.
Named after the Earth's outer atmosphere in a reference to the exclusive nature of the programme, the Exos Experience is one of a number of projects that Cosworth is working on with Group Lotus.
The car that forms the centre
piece of the Exos Experience is the Lotus 125, an F1 inspired
design complete with Cosworth GPV8 3500cc engine capable of
developing 640 bhp at 10,000 rpm.
It has a six-speed semi automatic transmission with paddle shift. The chassis is carbon composite, nomex core and aluminium core construction that boasts carbon ceramic brakes, FIA approved fuel cell and fire system. Two differences between the Lotus 125 and a F1-spec car are both concessions to potential customers. The first is a larger cockpit capable of accommodating the tall and mighty. The second is a push button starter located inside the cockpit - one of the more visible elements of the Cosworth electronics systems that have also been developed for the car including the latest Pectel SQ6M engine control unit.
